Cats and Dogs Services  
Vaccinations and Worming:
  • Your pet will be given a comprehensive health check before it is vaccinated. We only offer the best of vaccinations available. This often allows for less frequent vaccination. We will discuss what option best fits your pet during the vaccination consultation. Back to top
 Medicine:
  • The practice is well equipped for medical treatment of companion animals. Graeme Ashby has recently qualified as a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in internal medicine.
  • Oncology services. We can diagnose tumours and offer chemotherapy if indicated.

 Surgery:
  • Designated surgical suite for sterile surgical procedures.
  • Full range of orthopaedic equipment for repair of all fractures in domestic pets.

Dentistry:
  • The clinic is equipped with an ultrasonic descaler and high speed polisher. We can remedy any dental hygiene problems or tartar build up on your pet's teeth. We sell special diets to help prevent recurrence of tartar build up. Back to top
Anaesthesia:
  • We have state of the art anaesthetic equipment. Oxygen is piped throughout the building.
  • Fluid pump
  • We only use the safest and most up to date anaesthetic drugs available. Back to top
Nurses:
  • All our nurses are fully trained. We encourage continuing education to keep them at the top of their game. Back to top 
Hospitalisation:
  • We have separate cat and dog wards. Both of these are kept warm for recuperating animals.
  • Isolation ward for potentially infectious diseases eg parvoviral infection. Back to top
Microchipping
  • All our vets use local anaesthetic to ensure that this process is painless. The addition of adrenaline reduces (eliminates) bleeding post microchipping. Back to top

Exotics:
  • We can give you advice on any pet from a tortoise to a guinea pig. We have particular interest in rabbits and poultry farming. Back to top
Home Visits:
  • We can accommodate home visits if required. Many people prefer to have their pets humanely euthanased at home when the time comes. Back to top
De-sexing:
  • Routine neutering of dogs, cats and rabbits are performed daily Monday to Friday. Patients stay for the day and generally return home in the evening. Back to top
Radiology:
  • We have a state of the art digital radiography machine that displays an image 10 seconds after the shot is taken. This system provides much better images than conventional film systems.
  • Hip and elbow scoring for dysplasia certification.

Diagnostic Ultrasound:
  • We have recently bought an advanced veterinary ultrasound which provides high definition images.
  • Pregnancy diagnosis and monitoring
  • Cardiac echocardiology with Doppler

Export and Import of pets:

  • Artificial insemination.

Diagnostic Laboratory:
  • Our in house laboratory enables us to rapidly analyse urine samples, fungal cultures (ringworm), skin scrapes for mites (mange), fine needle biopsies for tumour diagnosis, faecal egg counts for internal parasites, centrifuge, blood glucose, rapid SNAP tests for parvovirus, FIV, FeLV, cross matching for blood transfusions.   • Our clinic waiting room carries an extensive range of pet accessories, flea and worm control products and pet foods. If there is something you want that we don’t stock, ask one of our friendly staff and we will get it in for you, often by the next day. Back to top
